Video Poker

Video Poker - now without risk of losing money! Early release version.

HOW TO PLAY:

• Deposit your money
• Bet an amount using either bet 1 or bet max. Clear Bet will reset this number
• Once you've bet, click the "deal button"
• After the first deal, you can choose to hold cards - do so using the left mouse button
• Click the deal button again to reveal your final hand
• If the hand is in the pay table at the top of the screen, you win more credits!

09.02.2024 Update: Version 0.1 - Game is Playable!

• Added some music tracks. Credit to Zane Little
• Added a settings menu to change the volume levels (all, music, and SFX)
• Tweaked UI to be a bit nicer
• Added some tracking items
• Added MONEY. This is a previous of things to come but there are two distinct currencies at work:
  • Credits - what you use to bet at the machine
  • Money - actual dollars (pending an option to adopt a different currency)
  • You can deposit to change money into credits
  • You can cash out to change your credits back into dollars
  • Future state - there will be reasons to cash out and ways to spend money
• Font: Lemon Milk
• Most other assets are from God King Kenny
• Cool background effects based on a modification from Godot Shaders

Known Issues:

• No "lose" state. If you run out of money and credits, the game just waits for input. Need to refresh
• "Win percentage" is based on hands won rather than coins won. May display both or fix this.
• Draws seem to always show "1" - when draws are depleted, this is updated too quickly to show 0

08.22.2024 Update:

• Sound FX added.
• Some slight animations added (showing back of the cards, cards being revealed, holding a card)

Known Issues:

• The deck gradually gets bigger. The discarded cards are not being cleared completely
• The number of credits bet should highlight the appropriate column
• The number of credits won should highlight in the appropriate row
• Add some information on play statistics: games won, credits bet, etc.
• [REDACTED] modes adding some light RPG, deck buildin, and rogue-like elements.

08.07.2024 Information:

-Can play and potentially win big.

-No losing (just refresh!) Alternatively use the secret "c" key to change your current hand to a Royal Flush (be sure to hold your cards before refreshing!)

-Cool Animations

-Other video poker types

-Ability to change pay tables (how much each winning hand pays)

Generally you'll want to use the "bet max" and "deal" buttons. Click on cards to hold them back before pressing "deal" again.
